England beat Mexico 3-2 to reach the World Cup quarterfinals

England beat Mexico 3-2 in a Round of 16 FIFA World Cup 2026 match at Mexico City’s Estadio Azteca to reach the quarterfinals.

Jude Bellingham scored twice and Harry Kane converted a penalty as the Three Lions prevailed despite playing much of the second half with ten men after Jarell Quansah’s red card in the 54th minute.

Co-host Mexico fought back from 2-0 down with goals from Uriel Antuna and Raul Jimenez, the latter from a Kane-conceded penalty following VAR review. England held on amid fervent home support.

England will face Norway in Miami on July 11 for a quarterfinal berth.
