SpaceX IPO Eclipses Saudi Aramco’s 2019 Record as Largest Public Offering in History

SpaceX’s 75 billion dollar initial public offering eclipsed Saudi Aramco’s 29 billion dollar 2019 listing to become the largest public offering in history.

The company sold 555.6 million shares at 135 dollars each on June 12. The stock opened at 150 on Nasdaq under ticker SPCX and closed near 161 dollars.

Goldman Sachs led a 21-bank syndicate, allocating nearly a third of shares to retail investors through Robinhood, Fidelity and Charles Schwab.

The debut pushed SpaceX’s market capitalization past two trillion dollars and made Elon Musk the world’s first trillionaire.
