Anthropic launched Claude Science, a beta AI workbench for scientists, alongside an internal drug-discovery program targeting neglected diseases.
The app integrates more than 60 preconfigured research tools across paid Claude tiers on macOS and Linux, connecting databases, Jupyter notebooks and visualization packages. Scientists can generate auditable artifacts and access remote computing.
Head of life sciences Eric Kauderer-Abrams said Anthropic will develop its own drug candidates for diseases traditional pharmaceutical firms overlook, learning firsthand how to build better tools for partners.
The company also opened applications through July 15 for up to 50 AI-for-Science grants offering $30,000 in credits.
