In one of the largest single digital infrastructure commitments in Indian history, Tata Consultancy Services subsidiary HyperVault announced a massive ₹70,000 crore investment to build a one-gigawatt artificial intelligence hyperscale data center campus in Hyderabad.
The computing megaproject will be situated across a 264-acre land parcel located in the Shamshabad industrial IT corridor near Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. Designed specifically to support high-density AI model training and enterprise inferencing workloads, the facility will incorporate direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems and dedicated renewable energy substations.
Telangana Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu formally welcomed the investment during a joint press briefing with Tata Group leadership. He noted that the state government will provide single-window regulatory clearances and dedicated 400-kilovolt power transmission lines to guarantee continuous electrical redundancy for the hyperscale campus.
HyperVault executives stated that construction will progress across four modular 250-megawatt development phases over the next six years, with the initial phase scheduled to go live by late 2027. The project is projected to generate over 12,000 high-technology engineering jobs and create thousands of indirect ancillary employment opportunities across the regional supply chain.
Technology market analysts highlighted that the gigantic data park positions Hyderabad alongside global AI infrastructure hubs like Northern Virginia and Dublin. The campus will cater to global cloud providers, domestic financial institutions, and sovereign digital platform workloads requiring domestic data localization.
