The Asian Development Bank formalized a landmark transaction advisory services agreement with the state government of Madhya Pradesh on Friday, marking the multilateral lender first transaction advisory mandate for clean energy public-private partnerships in India.
Under the signed cooperation framework, ADB will assist state renewable energy authorities in structuring, tendering, and mobilizing private institutional capital for a pipeline of large-scale solar photovoltaic parks and utility-scale battery energy storage systems valued at approximately one billion dollars. The mandate aims to design robust, bankable concession agreements that attract premier international infrastructure developers while optimizing green power tariffs for state distribution utilities.
State energy department officials emphasized that the project will provide critical round-the-clock clean electricity to industrial corridors and agrarian irrigation pumps across central India. ADB representatives noted that the structuring blueprint created in Madhya Pradesh will serve as a scalable financing model for other emerging economies pursuing ambitious clean energy transitions.
