Software developer toolmaker Warp publicly disclosed a cybersecurity incident that resulted in unauthorized access to internal logging databases containing user telemetry information and artificial intelligence agent activity records. The San Francisco-based creator of the modern, AI-integrated terminal emulator notified registered users that security engineers discovered anomalous access patterns within an internal telemetry cluster before shutting down the unauthorized entry vector.
According to the company’s security disclosure, the compromised logging repositories contained anonymized terminal usage statistics, error crash reports, and certain natural language queries submitted to its AI coding assistant during terminal sessions. Warp clarified that sensitive credentials, encrypted authentication tokens, and underlying terminal input-output streams were stored in separate segmented environments and were not compromised during the intrusion. The company implemented immediate credential revocations, expanded internal access controls, and engaged external digital forensics consultants to conduct an exhaustive security review of its cloud architecture.
