Doctors’ body barred from Parliamentary panel meeting on NEET

Coverage on June 2, 2026 described how published accounts tied the story to wider national and sector coverage. On June 1, 2026, representatives of the United Doctors Forum were not allowed to present before Parliament’s education standing committee after BJP objections.

In addition, the panel was examining pen-and-paper versus computer-based testing and NEET-related issues. NTA officials told the committee their focus is the June 21, 2026 NEET-UG re-test in pen-and-paper mode.

Authorities also said NTA said it intends to move NEET to computer-based testing from 2027. Chairman Digvijaya Singh later accepted the doctors’ written submission privately after they were excluded from the meeting.

Officials said further steps would follow as reviews continue.
