FSSAI Issues Notices to KFC Flipkart and Nestlé Over Hygiene Complaints

India’s Food Safety and Standards Authority issued notices to KFC, Flipkart India and Nestlé over hygiene and contamination complaints. FSSAI took action against KFC for alleged hygiene deficiencies at its outlets.

Separate notices went to Nestlé and Flipkart India regarding alleged insect contamination in products sold through their platforms. The regulator ordered the companies to submit corrective action plans within prescribed deadlines.

FSSAI conducts routine and complaint-driven inspections of food businesses across the country. The notices require the companies to address specific violations identified during investigations.

KFC operates hundreds of restaurants in India, while Nestlé and Flipkart are major players in packaged foods and e-commerce respectively. Failure to comply with FSSAI directives can result in fines and license suspension.
