Delhi High Court Issues Notice in NSUI Petition Over CBSE On-Screen Marking System Irregularities

The Delhi High Court issued notice Thursday on a National Students’ Union of India petition alleging widespread irregularities in the Central Board of Secondary Education on-screen marking system.

Student leaders claimed digital evaluation workflows produced inconsistent scores and inadequate grievance redress during recent board examinations.

The bench directed the Union Government to file a formal response explaining safeguards, server logs and audit mechanisms for on-screen grading.

CBSE has promoted digital marking as a transparency measure, but critics say software glitches and training gaps have undermined confidence.

A follow-up hearing will examine whether interim relief is warranted for candidates awaiting re-evaluation requests.
