AICWA demands police FIR against producers following major fire outbreak on Film City studio set

The All Indian Cine Workers Association submitted a formal written petition to the Mumbai Police Commissioner demanding the registration of a criminal First Information Report against the executive producers of the upcoming feature film Pati Patni Aur Panga 2 following a devastating fire that gutted large studio sets at Goregaon Film City. The major blaze erupted during intensive shooting sequences, destroying soundstages and sending plumes of toxic smoke across neighboring studio complexes.

While emergency response fire brigades dispatched twelve specialized water tankers to contain the raging flames without loss of life, trade union leaders pointed out that hundreds of background technicians, junior artists, and crew members were subjected to life-threatening danger due to absent fire exits, defunct hydrants, and expired chemical extinguishers. The association alleged gross negligence by production executives who prioritized cost cutting over mandatory occupational safety standards.

Municipal fire prevention inspectors launched an on-site technical investigation to determine the exact electrical or pyrotechnic ignition origin that triggered the blaze. Trade union representatives warned that filming activities across city studios would face work stoppages unless studio management authorities institute rigorous third-party fire safety audits and comprehensive medical insurance coverage for all on-set personnel.
