CBI Court Allows NEET Accused Yash Yadav to Keep Books for Re-Exam Preparation While in Custody

A special CBI court allowed NEET paper leak accused Yash Yadav to possess books for studying while in judicial custody, raising questions about whether the National Testing Agency had issued him an admit card for the re-examination.

The court’s order permits Yadav to keep study materials in custody, acknowledging his status as a student affected by the exam disruption. The decision sparked debate because individuals accused of compromising NEET may also be candidates seeking to take the rescheduled test.

NTA issues admit cards to eligible registrants for NEET re-exams, but the agency has not publicly confirmed whether Yadav received one. The overlap between accused persons and registered aspirants presents an unusual procedural situation for the testing body.

CBI continues to investigate Yadav’s alleged role in the paper distribution network. His legal team sought the books order to allow continued academic preparation during detention.

The court will revisit custody conditions as the case progresses toward trial on leak-related charges.
