Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam president and cinema icon C. Joseph Vijay led a massive motorcade and public roadshow through Dharapuram on October 5, 2026, mobilizing tens of thousands of cheering supporters as campaigning intensified for the upcoming Tamil Nadu legislative assembly by-election. Standing atop a specially modified campaign vehicle, the actor-politician urged party cadres to maintain disciplined conduct and practice issue-based politics focused on public welfare.
Addressing crowds assembled along major thoroughfares, Vijay emphasized regional economic development, agricultural water security for western districts, and transparent administrative governance as primary pillars of his party’s electoral manifesto. He cautioned party volunteers against indulging in personal vilification or incendiary rhetoric against political rivals, stressing that substantive policy alternatives would earn the trust of discerning voters.
Local administration and district police deployed specialized crowd management units to ensure orderly transit along the packed campaign route. Political analysts noted that the high voter turnout at the Dharapuram roadshow highlights TVK’s growing organizational momentum, establishing the young regional outfit as a significant contender across Tamil Nadu’s competitive political landscape.
