Inaugurating an international healthcare export symposium organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi, Goyal urged corporate hospital networks and wellness providers to aggressively expand international accreditation and telehealth connectivity. The minister pointed out that India offers world-class tertiary surgical interventions, oncology care, and organ transplants at a fraction of the costs prevailing in Western and East Asian nations.
Goyal disclosed that the central government is streamlining medical visa processing through dedicated digital corridors and establishing standardized overseas patient assistance facilitation centers across major international airports. He urged healthcare chains to build integrated medical tourism clusters that combine modern surgical therapies with accredited traditional AYUSH wellness regimens.
Industry leaders commended the government’s policy focus, noting that medical value travel provides vital spillover stimulus to regional hospitality, aviation, and translation sectors. The Commerce Ministry agreed to establish a dedicated inter-ministerial task force to address overseas medical insurance reimbursements and cross-border accreditation treaties.
