Convoy Organized by Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon Reaches Destination After 12 Hours

A 25-truck convoy organized by the apostolic nuncio in Lebanon reached its destination Friday after a journey of roughly 12 hours, church officials said.

The convoy was arranged to help Lebanese residents return to communities affected by ongoing conflict. Organizers said the route faced delays of more than an hour due to security checkpoints and road conditions.

The nuncio, who serves as the Vatican’s diplomatic representative, coordinated with local authorities to ensure safe passage for civilians carrying supplies and personal belongings.

Aid workers said similar convoys would be needed in coming weeks as displaced families attempt to rebuild in southern Lebanon.
