CUET PG 2026: NTA says March 29-30 re-exam was for 565 candidates, & had no normalisation

The National Testing Agency said Friday that its March 29-30 CUET-PG 2026 re-examination involved 565 candidates affected by unrest in Meghalaya’s Tura and did not apply score normalization to that cohort.

Officials issued the clarification after social media posts alleged unfair scaling advantaged students who sat the original paper before violence disrupted centers.

NTA data show re-test takers received raw-score reporting identical to other sessions, with percentile ranks computed separately within their pool.

Students from North-East states had demanded transparency after delayed admit cards and curfews complicated travel plans.

Fact-checkers matched NTA press releases against rumor charts circulating on coaching Telegram channels and found mismatched candidate totals.

Admissions committees at central universities said they will honor NTA’s published merit lists absent court orders intervening.
