Davenport Man Sentenced to 340 Months in Federal Prison for Drug and Firearm Charges

A resident of Davenport, Iowa was sentenced to 340 months in federal prison after being convicted on multiple counts of narcotics trafficking and firearms violations in the Southern District of Iowa. Federal prosecutors presented evidence during proceedings establishing that the defendant coordinated street-level and mid-level distributions of illicit controlled substances while maintaining an arsenal of loaded firearms to protect drug distribution hubs and cash proceeds.

The collaborative investigation, conducted by the Davenport Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, resulted in the seizure of distributed narcotics, ammunition, and handguns from residential properties tied to the defendant. The court noted the defendant’s extensive criminal history and the heightened dangers posed by combining illegal weapons with commercial narcotics distribution. Because there is no parole in the federal prison system, the defendant will serve more than 28 years in custody before beginning a term of supervised release.
