I&B Ministry launches ‘Gems of India’ creator challenge

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched the pilot phase of the “Gems of India” creator challenge, an initiative aimed at discovering grassroots digital content creators from across the country.

The challenge is designed to identify and promote creators whose work reflects authentic, locally rooted storytelling, giving them a platform to reach wider audiences. The pilot phase marks the initial rollout of the program, which the ministry has framed as part of its broader push to support India’s digital content ecosystem.

Details on eligibility criteria and how creators can participate in subsequent phases of the challenge were not immediately specified.

The pilot phase is expected to run for a limited period before the ministry evaluates whether to expand the challenge to a wider pool of participants in subsequent rounds.
