iOS 27.2 Fixes Over 160 Security Vulnerabilities

Apple has rolled out iOS 27.2 and iPadOS 27.2, delivering comprehensive security patches that resolve more than 160 documented security vulnerabilities across its mobile ecosystem. The extensive maintenance release addresses critical flaws residing within the WebKit browser engine, the Darwin kernel, CoreGraphics, and various system-level privacy protection frameworks.

Several of the patched vulnerabilities could have enabled arbitrary code execution, kernel-level privilege escalation, or unauthorized access to sensitive user data through maliciously crafted web content or local applications. Apple credited external research groups with discovering and responsibly reporting the flaws, including security analysts from Anthropic Research, OpenAI, and researchers affiliated with the Calif jailbreak team.

Cybersecurity agencies recommend that users apply the software update promptly across all supported iPhone and iPad models to safeguard against potential exploitation. Apple stated that none of the newly resolved vulnerabilities had demonstrated active, widespread exploitation in the wild prior to the public availability of the patches.
