Maharashtra secures Two Gold Awards at National Awards for e-Governance 2026

Maharashtra received two gold awards at the National Awards for e-Governance 2026, recognizing state projects that improved digital service delivery for citizens and businesses. Officials cited unified portals reducing office visits for certificates, permits and grievance tracking.

Evaluators scored submissions on scalability, transparency and measurable time savings documented through before-and-after workflow studies. Winning teams included district collectors collaborating with NIC engineers on multilingual interfaces.

Other states studied Maharashtra’s playbook for integrating legacy databases without prolonged downtime. Privacy advocates urged continued audits ensuring personal data minimization as more services go fully online.

Chief minister’s office staff said awards will be leveraged to attract talent into public technology roles competing with private sector salaries.
