Microsoft and Mistral AI expanded their strategic partnership, giving enterprises and regulated industries native access to Mistral’s frontier AI models across Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure.
The expanded deal is designed to let organizations in regulated sectors deploy Mistral’s models while maintaining the compliance and control requirements typical of Microsoft’s enterprise cloud environment. The partnership builds on an earlier relationship between the two companies as competition among cloud providers to host leading AI models continues to intensify.
Financial terms of the expanded agreement were not disclosed by either company.
Microsoft has pursued partnerships with multiple AI model developers in recent years as part of a strategy to offer enterprise customers a choice of frontier models within its Azure cloud ecosystem.
