Microsoft Finalises 11000-Model AI Foundry Catalog Including Claude Opus 4.8

Microsoft finalized its AI Foundry catalog with 11,000 models, including Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.8, making the portfolio available to enterprise clients on Azure and affiliated platforms.

AI Foundry aggregates third-party and Microsoft-developed models behind unified APIs and governance tools. The inclusion of Claude Opus 4.8 brings Anthropic’s flagship capability into the same procurement channel as OpenAI and open-weight alternatives.

Enterprise customers benefit from model choice without rebuilding integrations for each provider. Microsoft positions Foundry as a neutral marketplace amid competition among frontier labs.

The 11,000-model count encompasses specialized variants, fine-tuned editions, and regional deployments rather than 11,000 wholly distinct architectures. Catalog depth reflects Microsoft’s strategy to capture AI workloads across industries and compliance regimes.
