OMRON and NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS join forces to combat cyber risks in manufacturing

Industrial automation provider OMRON Corporation and telecommunications enterprise NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS have formed a strategic alliance to combat escalating cybersecurity risks across manufacturing operations. The collaboration will combine OMRON’s factory automation systems with NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS’s managed network security solutions to safeguard connected operational technology environments from disruptive digital intrusions.

As manufacturing facilities increasingly integrate industrial internet of things devices, cloud-linked sensors, and automated assembly equipment, factory floors face elevated vulnerabilities to ransomware, network infiltration, and supply chain sabotage. The joint initiative aims to deliver end-to-end security architectures, incorporating real-time anomaly detection, zero-trust network verification, and automated containment protocols tailored specifically for production lines.

Under the partnership framework, the companies plan to establish comprehensive assessment services and operational resilience protocols for manufacturing clients across Japan and international markets. The initiative focuses on maintaining continuous production uptime while ensuring operational technology systems comply with stringent global cybersecurity standards.
