Personal Assistant Sentenced to 48 Months in Prison for Massive Fraud Scheme Targeting Her Elderly Employers

A federal judge in the Eastern District of New York sentenced a former personal assistant to 48 months in federal prison for executing a calculated embezzlement scheme that looted approximately $10 million from her elderly employers. Over an extended employment tenure, the defendant exploited her position of financial trust to manipulate household bank accounts, forged corporate signatures, and initiated unauthorized electronic wire transfers. Prosecutors demonstrated that the stolen millions funded an extravagant personal lifestyle, including luxury watches from Cartier, high-end designer apparel from Louis Vuitton and Gucci, and premium consumer electronics from Apple.

United States Attorney Breon Peace emphasized that the conviction underscores the federal government’s relentless commitment to prosecuting individuals who exploit vulnerable seniors for personal enrichment. In addition to the four-year custodial term, the court ordered the defendant to serve three years of supervised release and pay full restitution to the victimized family. Federal agents also seized hundreds of designer goods and frozen liquid assets, which will be liquidated through government forfeiture proceedings to compensate the victims.
