Protesters storm Serbian pro-Vucic TV station after his loss at polls

Demonstrators gathered outside and entered the facilities of pro-government television networks in Belgrade following the electoral defeat of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić at the ballot box. Crowds demanded an end to state-aligned media bias and rallied outside commercial broadcasting studios that had long supported the ruling administration. Concurrently, regional public broadcaster RTV issued a public apology to viewers, acknowledging years of unbalanced news coverage and committing to editorial independence in the post-election period.

The protests erupted as civic organizations and opposition alliances celebrated electoral shifts that overturned the ruling party’s parliamentary dominance. Demonstrators held placards denouncing media censorship, demanding transparency in public broadcasting, and calling for the resignations of regulatory agency directors. Police units maintained a visible presence around broadcast headquarters in central Belgrade to prevent violence, while newly elected political leaders urged supporters to maintain peaceful conduct as transition negotiations between political parties commenced.
