‘Relatives not visiting us’: Dwarka Expressway residents seek toll relief for e-cabs, school buses

Communities along the Dwarka Expressway petitioned the National Highways Authority of India Friday for toll exemptions on electric cabs and school buses using the new corridor.

Residents said daily plaza charges isolate townships from Gurgaon workplaces and educational campuses, forcing costly detours through congested arterial roads.

The petition cites comparable concessions granted elsewhere for zero-emission fleets and for buses serving children in resettlement colonies.

NHAI officials acknowledged receipt of representations and said a tariff review committee would evaluate economic impact before any rule change.

Neighborhood associations plan sustained demonstrations at the Bijwasan plaza unless interim relief is granted before the monsoon school reopening.
