Salesforce expands Agent Fabric with AI evaluations to trigger shutdowns when agents fail

Salesforce introduced significant governance and safety enhancements to its MuleSoft Agent Fabric platform, adding automated real-time evaluation mechanisms and outlining a technical roadmap for an automated emergency kill switch for errant autonomous software agents. The announcement addresses acute corporate anxieties regarding agentic hallucination, unconstrained API loops, and unauthorized data leakage as enterprises entrust business operations to autonomous artificial intelligence systems.

The updated evaluation framework continuously monitors agentic behaviors against predefined security parameters, corporate compliance guidelines, and budgetary cost thresholds. If an autonomous agent begins executing repetitive unhelpful tool calls, deviating from designated conversational policies, or exceeding operational spending limits, the system triggers alerts or invokes the Triggered-Agent Kill Switch to terminate active sessions immediately. Salesforce product leaders noted that robust circuit-breakers are indispensable for enterprise adoption, giving compliance officers and IT administrators the confidence to deploy autonomous agents knowing that rogue behaviors can be halted autonomously before impacting enterprise workflows.
