SpaceX Goes Public in Largest IPO in History Raising 75 Billion Dollars

SpaceX completed the largest initial public offering in history on Thursday, pricing shares at $135 on the Nasdaq and raising $75 billion at a valuation of $1.75 trillion. Elon Musk’s rocket and satellite company opened trading after years of remaining privately held.

The IPO surpassed previous records for capital raised in a single public offering. Investors snapped up shares despite SpaceX’s already enormous private market valuation.

Musk retains significant control over the company, which operates the Falcon rocket fleet and the Starlink satellite internet network. Proceeds from the offering are expected to fund expansion of launch capacity and satellite deployment.

The listing on the Nasdaq marked a milestone for the commercial space industry. SpaceX has become the dominant private launch provider for both government and commercial customers worldwide.
