Albania Is Not For Sale: Protests Mount Over Proposed Jared Kushner Luxury Development

Demonstrators marched in Albania this week chanting that the country is not for sale, protesting a proposed luxury resort development linked to Jared Kushner.

Opponents said the project would hand prized coastal land to foreign investors at the expense of local communities. Organizers argued the development lacked transparency and adequate public consultation.

Kushner, a real estate developer and son-in-law of President Donald Trump, has faced scrutiny over the scale and terms of the planned resort.

Albanian government officials had defended the investment as a boost to tourism, but protesters said ordinary citizens would see little benefit from the deal.
