NEET 2026 Paper Leak Re-Exam Re-Registration Confirmed for June 21 with No Fees for Students

The National Testing Agency confirmed the NEET-UG re-examination will be held on June 21, 2026, following a paper leak that compromised the original test. Affected students will not need to complete fresh registration or pay additional fees to sit for the replacement exam.

The leak, linked to unauthorized distribution of questions through messaging platforms, triggered police investigations and cybercrime probes. NTA’s announcement provides a fixed timeline for millions of medical aspirants whose admissions depend on NEET scores.

Students who appeared for the compromised examination will be automatically enrolled for the June 21 session under the agency’s re-test protocol. Education ministry officials said integrity measures for the re-exam include enhanced security and revised question paper handling.

The paper leak scandal has intensified scrutiny of India’s centralized entrance testing system, which governs admission to undergraduate medical programs nationwide. Candidates and parents welcomed the fee waiver while pressing for accountability regarding how the breach occurred.

NEET-UG determines admission to undergraduate medical and dental programs at government and private colleges across India. Cybercrime investigators traced leaked question material to unauthorized channels on messaging applications, prompting the NTA to annul the original examination.

Medical college aspirants across India had prepared for the original NEET date before the leak forced cancellation.
