Shares of Chennai-based software firm Ramco Systems surged to the upper circuit on the National Stock Exchange on May 22 after the company reported sharply improved quarterly earnings for the January-March period of fiscal 2025-26.
Revenue from operations rose about 19 percent year-on-year to 185.36 crore rupees, while consolidated net profit jumped roughly 372 percent to 25.05 crore rupees compared with 5.31 crore rupees in the year-ago quarter. Profit before tax more than doubled to about 22.10 crore rupees.
For the full fiscal year, Ramco Systems reported consolidated revenue of 708.2 crore rupees and a net profit of 41.84 crore rupees, marking a turnaround from a loss in the prior year. The company attributed growth partly to a 15 percent rise in recurring revenue.
The stock hit a 20 percent upper circuit at 469.90 rupees during the session, though it remained down more than 30 percent on a year-to-date basis. Trading volumes exceeded three million shares as investors responded to the earnings surprise amid a broader market rebound.
Ramco Systems, part of the Chennai-based Ramco Group, provides enterprise software for aviation, logistics and human resources. The company said recurring revenue acceleration and improved operational efficiency supported the quarterly turnaround. Market capitalization stood near 1,765 crore rupees following the sharp session move.
