Seychelles Requests India Provide an Advanced Light Helicopter — New Delhi Responds With Positive Frame

Seychelles has formally requested that India provide an Advanced Light Helicopter for its coast guard, with New Delhi indicating a favourable response.

President Patrick Herminie sought Indian assistance for the helicopter, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed that India would look at the request favourably. The aircraft would support Seychelles’ maritime and coast guard operations.

The Advanced Light Helicopter is an indigenously developed Indian platform that has been supplied to various users for roles including surveillance, search and rescue and transport.

Provision of the helicopter would deepen defence cooperation between the two countries, adding to the package of maritime support extended by India to bolster Seychelles’ security capabilities.
