India and Seychelles have agreed to develop artificial intelligence and cybersecurity centres under a new framework of bilateral cooperation.
Seychelles formally requested India’s assistance in setting up the centres, and New Delhi responded positively to the request during the state visit. The arrangement extends the partnership into emerging areas of technology.
Cybersecurity and AI capacity-building have become increasingly important for smaller states seeking to protect their digital infrastructure and develop technical expertise. India’s support reflects its growing role as a technology partner.
The agreement adds a technological dimension to the wider engagement between the two countries, complementing cooperation in maritime security, health and the digital economy.
